What is GST Registration?
GST registration gives your business a 15-digit GSTIN that lets you collect GST from customers, claim input tax credit on purchases and supply goods or services across India. Registration is done online on the GST portal and is free from the government side.
Most applications with successful Aadhaar authentication are approved within 3 working days. Applications that are not authenticated may need a physical verification of the business premises.
Types of GST Registration
For most businesses. Collect GST, claim full ITC and file monthly or quarterly returns.
For small businesses with turnover up to ₹1.5 crore (goods) or ₹50 lakh (services). Pay tax at a low fixed rate with simpler returns, but no ITC.
For exhibitions, fairs or seasonal business in a state where you have no fixed place of business.
For foreign businesses supplying in India occasionally.
For government departments deducting TDS, e-commerce operators collecting TCS, and input service distributors.
